A study conducted by a group of researchers revealed the reasons for the change in the color of bright white snow to other colors such as ruby red, orange and pink, which locals call the phenomenon of icy blood.
The French channel Monte Carlo quoted study author Adeline Stewart, who works as a doctoral student at the University of Grenoble Alps in France, as saying that "small bacteria are the basis of all ecosystems," adding that algae produce a large amount of oxygen in the world and form the basis of most food webs, but their excessive reproduction It upsets the balance of nature and this toxic red color or glacier blood can cause alarming.
The researchers conducted a census in parts of the French Alps sites to see what grows there, and took soil samples from five peaks and searched for the DNA of these plants.
It is worth noting that they discovered one major species called sangina that grows only at an altitude of 6,500 feet from sea level.
